The Buffalo Bills are focused on winning a Super Bowl on the field, but lawmakers and Bills owners are focused on finalizing details for the Bills’ all-new outdoor stadium.
The paperwork deadline is Sept. 1, but Bills owners Pegula Sports and Entertainment and Erie County lawmakers are still working to finalize things before that.
We know it will be a $1.4 billion outdoor stadium that will be built directly across from the current location of Highmark Stadium on Abbott Road in Orchard Park. While some renders of what the outlook should look like on Abbott and Big Tree Roads have been released, we have yet to get the final renders of the new stadium.
PSE’s Ron Raccuia was a guest on WGR Radio in Buffalo on Monday morning and spoke about some details about the Bills’ new stadium.
Perhaps the most surprising thing was when Raccuia said fans would actually be closer to the pitch inside the new stadium than they are at Highmark Stadium right now. This from Sal Capaccio of WGR radio.
Highmark Stadium is already one of, if not the closest, home ground to the NFL. It really feels like being at a college football game. The fact that the new stadium brings the fans even closer together is a very attractive feature.
Raccuia also told WGR radio that renders for the new stadium will be coming very soon, so be on the lookout for that.
