Popular Buffalo restaurant says party of 20 ran out without paying $1,000 tab

This story is absolutely horrible and I feel for the restaurant owners and the staff when something like this happens.

A local restaurant is scared and saddened by the events that transpired on Sunday evening, especially as it has been extremely difficult for restaurants over the past 12 months in the face of the pandemic.

According to WIVB, The Chocolate Bar on W. Chippewa in the city of Buffalo says a party of 20 ran out without paying a $1,000 tab.

That’s not all. According to The Chocolate Bar’s Facebook post, people also threatened the manager as he tried to corner them.

“On Sunday night a group of 20 people ran out of a bill over $1000.00. As they were leaving they cornered it, our manager grabbed it, snatched it away his mask and threatened him. Our staff were terrorized by this group of mixed-age adults.”

The Chocolate Bar post spread across Facebook here in Buffalo and there was outgoing support after the incident.

The Chocolate Bar says they’ve only done 30% business lately, so for something like this to happen is scary.

I can’t believe people have the audacity to do something like this. This story not only makes me angry, but also scares me that people would do this to a company.
