There’s a lot of talk about canceling cultivation, but nothing and no one comes close to being responsible for canceling so many annual events like the coronavirus pandemic.
Just weeks after the announcement of the cancellation of Canal Fest and the Allentown Arts Festival, another popular annual festival is suspended until 2022.
WIVB reports that the 2021 Galbani Italian Cheese Heritage Festival has been officially canceled.
A statement on the festival’s website said the decision to cancel was for “the safety and welfare of our vendors, customers and board members.”
After announcing plans to return earlier this month, the Allentown Art Festival has confirmed it is canceling plans for the summer festival this season.
A statement from the president of the Allentown Art Festival Association, Rita Harrington Lippman, was posted on the organization’s website.
“It is with great sadness that we have to announce the cancellation of the 2021 Allentown Art Festival. It was a heartbreaking decision to make.
While we are preparing to host the show this year, Covid’s restrictions on large gatherings and our concern for the health and safety of our patrons, performers and vendors are preventing our event from returning this year. “
The organization said it looks forward to returning in 2022.
At the beginning of March, the event was looking good, as they were already accepting applications from artists.
A statement on the Allentown Art Festival association website said on March 1:
“While the threat of the Covid-19 pandemic is still active, we are in the process of planning our 64th Art Festival 2021 and we look forward to being with you.”
The festival has been suspended due to crowd control and COVID-19 concerns.
