Closing of the Buffalo restaurant; Will reopen with a new name and a new concept

It’s always a sad day when a local restaurant in Western New York closes. We care so much about local eating places in Buffalo because they have become part of our community and family.

A Buffalo restaurant has officially closed, but it’s not a goodbye forever, rather it’s the closing of one chapter and the start of another.

According to their social media accounts, popular seafood restaurant Dobutsu in Buffalo (near Larkinville), has closed after a successful last few weeks of saying goodbye to their loyal customers.

The good news is that this is not the end of the restaurant. They will eventually reopen with a new southern seafood concept and will be called Compass Run.

Another popular Buffalo restaurant is also closing, as The Black Sheep will serve its loyal customers for the last time on Sunday, April 17 (Easter Sunday).

I’m curious what Compass Run looks like. I love seafood and Dobutsu did such a great job but southern seafood sounds REALLY good and something that we just don’t have a lot in the Buffalo area so I think that will create a niche for the menu.

Too many restaurants have closed in Buffalo since the pandemic began, but I’m very intrigued by Compass Run and its menu. I can not wait !
