Buffalo has its own Ghostbusters

One of my favorite movies of any genre is ghost hunters. The 1984 blockbuster starred Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, Sigourney Weaver and Rick Moranis and sparked a sequel, an animated show, a reboot and tons of merchandise.

The man who made the first two ghost hunters films was Ivan Reitman, who sadly passed away in February at the age of 75. His son, Jason Reitman, directed the new Ghostbusters movie, Ghostbusters: Afterlife.

The group of ghost-catching scientists was a favorite of many moviegoers, but did you know that Buffalo has its own ghost-busters.

That’s right. The Buffalo Ghostbusters have been around since 2011, according to WKBW, and they were started by a group of locals who love the movies and wanted to dress and style (proton packs, etc.) like the characters from the movies.

But the Buffalo Ghostbusters don’t just dress up, they’ve been doing it for a good cause for the past few years.

The group helped raise money for toys, donating the toys to Toys for Tots.

Also Wednesday, the Buffalo Ghostbusters appeared at the annual Trunk-or-Treat To-Go at Buffalo Central Terminal.

The fact that they all come with the accessories is awesome. Check out these proton packs and even a vehicle!

The Buffalo Ghostbusters are available for charity events and you can find out more on their Facebook page.

They “keep WNY ghost-free for charity”.

Who are you gonna call?
